About J.D. Rempel
J.D. Rempel is a multi-award winning children’s author
whose stories blend heart, humor, and realism. Her books include Marigold and the Snoring King, a whimsical fairy-tale picture book, and The NorCal Girls, a contemporary middle-grade series. And an inspirational devotional for authors, Write with the Lord.
When she isn’t writing, J.D. can be found reading, binge-watching British TV (especially mysteries), playing computer games and puzzles, or chatting for hours on the phone with her besties. She’s married to a wonderful, humble, and devoted husband who encourages and supports her outlandish dreams.
J.D. resides in Northern California to be close to her amazing and loving family and near the majestic redwoods that inspire her stories.

J.D. is not the only writer in the family. She is pictured here with her dad, Poppy, while he is working on his poetry.
Her life verses:
Joshua 1:9 “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” (NIV)
Revelation 3:8 “I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept my word and have not denied my name.” (NIV)
May you understand the Truth behind the fiction.

Melanie at Camp Redwoods is based on a real place, Alliance Redwoods Conference Grounds. If you’ve read book two, you might recognize this picture. It is Katie’s favorite spot, but it is also J.D.’s favorite too whenever she visits the camp.
